The fast and addictive game of pickleball is everywhere and metro Atlanta is no exception. As the demand for pickleball courts increases, public tennis centers around metro Atlanta are either converting tennis courts to pickleball courts or bringing in portable pickleball nets adding markings to the tennis courts. The additional lines are extremely distracting to both sports and detract from the game. Atlanta simply needs more dedicated pickleball courts so both sports can enjoy courts built specifically for their use.

This was the inspiration behind my new construction project, a private tennis and pickleball facility inside the perimeter on Shallowford Road.

Breaking Ground Soon

The 2.5 acre site for the new facility is adjacent to Dynamo Swim Club. Our engineers our working on a design where the land in between the Dynamo and the racquet center will be turned into a shared parking lot. The conceptual drawing below is a preliminary drawing depicting one possible layout. As the engineers work on the technical set of plans for the club, they will determine how many courts can actually fit on the property. Once the plan is finished and approved by the city/ county, we will be breaking ground.

Current State Of the Property:

Right now the property is wooded with an old asphalt parking lot on it. Plans for development include:

• A Small Pro Shop With An Outdoor Communal Space

• 2-3 Tennis Courts

• 10-11 Pickleball Courts

• A Foodtruck Pad
